Functional features

GFRP products are good corrosion resistant materials. First, they are made from a combination of resins (phenolic plastics, epoxy resins and polyester resins), which have tensile strength comparable to that of steel - hence the name GFRP. I think you get the idea here, because it's so hard.

The tensile strength of FRP products is close to, or even greater than, that of carbon steel, and the specific strength can be compared with that of high-grade alloy steel. Therefore, it has remarkable achievements in aviation, rockets, space vehicles, high pressure vessels and other products that need to reduce self-weight. FRP is a good corrosion resistant material with good resistance to acids, bases, salts of atmosphere, water and general concentrations, as well as a variety of oils and solvents. But its shortcomings are obvious, that is, his long time high temperature resistant, general FRP can use for a long time at high temperature, general polyester FRP above 50 ℃ strength is markedly reduced, generally only used in under 100 ℃, general-purpose epoxy FRP above 60 ℃, strength has significantly decreased.

Anti-corrosion characteristics

Fiberglass products are the transmission medium for many industries due to their superior corrosion resistance. Fiber winding GFRP product structure is divided into three parts: inner lining, structural layer and outer protective layer. Among them, the resin content of inner lining is high, generally more than 70%, and the resin content of inner surface is as high as 95% or so. Through the choice of the resin used for the lining, the GFRP products can have different corrosion resistance when delivering liquid, thus meeting different work needs. To the occasion that needs external preservation, need external protective layer resin to undertake careful choice only, also can achieve different external preservation to use purpose.

Different anti-corrosion resins can be selected for FRP products according to different corrosion environments, mainly including: m-benzene unsaturated polyester resins, vinyl resins, bisphenol A resins, epoxy resins and furan resins, etc. For alkaline environment, vinyl resin, epoxy resin or furan resin were selected. Furan and other resins were used in the solvent environment. When the corrosion of acid, salt, solvent and so on is not very serious, we can choose the lower price of m-benzene resin. By choosing different resin for inner lining, FRP products can be widely used in working environment such as acid, alkali, salt and solvent, showing good corrosion resistance.
